In a group of 12, we were required to complete 3 tasks. The first was to conduct historical research on the place. Data could be in the form of literature, photographs, maps or plans, etc to gain a basic understanding of Machap Baru. Next, conduct a site analysis on the physical site of Machap Baru and extract the essence of the macro site, and curate a ‘theme' to represent it in a video format, with narration. Individually, create sketches of your personal interpretation of the MACRO site. Personal interpretations of the overall identity and character of the site.

REQUIREMENTS. 12 x A3 presentation boards, 1 x A0 axonometric projection of macrosite, 1 x 5-10 minutes YouTube video

AN ANALYSIS ON

REFLECTION.

We were required to document, evaluate, and analyze the site's physical characteristics and 'genius loci' of place, then produce a design based on the character and conditions of the site setting. It involved a long and challenging process of trial & error, analyzing, and discussions with my group members. The workshops that were provided for us were very helpful in guiding us to understand certain aspects of the project.

As we were a group of 12, we shared the workload equally as the opinions that we shared were mainly similar so we had a smooth ideation process. However, it was quite challenging in the communication aspect as there were many members. In addition, there were a few free-riders on this project as well. Overall, I am grateful for the members who are very initiative and willing to lead the project. This assignment has definitely has allowed me to generate a better understanding of how to conduct site analysis, and the definition of a new village, such as Machap Baru.
