WELLNESS CENTER PLUS.

After conducting site analysis, we were to design a Wellness Center PLUS within an internal space of 900sqm in the Kepong Botanical Gardens, bordering the suburban neighbourhood of Taman Ehsan. It is to serve as communal health and recreational facility and we were required to understand the specific needs of the ‘users’ of the design project so as to foster a sense of community in our design using various complex spatial organization typologies and a variety of passive strategies for sustainable design. The design should contribute to and merge harmoniously with the environment and site and provide the best spatial experiences in fostering a sense of community.

a sense of
community
in kepong.
Development is advancing rapidly, causing youngsters to leave Machap new village into the city to make a living, causing a decrease in population. We are to bring the forgotten past to life, and conserve the the village & memories of people in Machap which started to fade through time. It acts as a DOORWAY TO LOST MEMORIES that links the past to the present which also serves the community as a learning tool about culture and history over time. By incorporating intangible elements of multisensorial experiences in Machap, the repository evokes a journey.
