SITE ANALYSIS
& DESIGN RESPONSE.

In a group of 14, we were required to conduct research on the site to gain a basic understanding of Kepong Botanic Garden. Next, conduct a site analysis to interpret themes from the collected data to inform our design narratives which address the environmental qualities and contextual needs of the site. Based on the analysis, we were tasked to will derive a theme as the design response which would frame our presentation. Each group is to identify the PLUS component, also known as the key program, which our wellness center design will be based on.

AN ANALYSIS ON
KEPONG BOTANIC GARDENS.

In a group of 14, we were to conduct research on the site to gain a basic understanding of Kepong Botanic Gardens. After analyzing the site and the collected data, we were to interpret different themes as a design response which also frames our design narrative for our final project.

REFLECTION.

We were required to document, evaluate, and analyze the site's characteristics and then interpret different themes for our design response and design narrative. It involved a long and challenging process of trial & error, analysis, and discussions with my group members. As the data collected from our first site visit was not sufficient, the majority of us were willing to return back to our site several times to gather more information for a better analysis of the site.

As we were a group of 14, we shared the workload equally as the opinions that we shared were mainly similar so we had a smooth ideation process. However, it was quite challenging in the communication aspect as there were many members. Overall, I am grateful for the members who are very initiative and willing to lead the project. This assignment has definitely allowed me to generate a better understanding of how to conduct site analysis and the relationship between the community and Kepong Botanic Gardens.
